The print on demand fabric website Spoonflower has to get their designs ready for the new year now. So this week, designers were tasked with designing for Wallhanging calendars. <br>In contrast to some weeks, my first sketch ended up being the idea I wanted to go with. They are flower lights or flower \u201cbulbs.\u201d \ud83d\ude06 Here\u2019s the overall process in Timelapse form\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"852\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 852;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/homeoncemoreart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/trim.D10462EC-50BE-4457-9357-90A10A1F7D90.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initially, the flowers were going to be loose and painterly, along with the light from the \u201clamps.\u201d But after seeing how messy it was looking, I pivoted to clean lines. As you can see from the Timelapse below, the layers of the \u201clamp light\u201d were COMPLEX. I could feel my designer muscles growing as I simplified the image. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"852\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 852;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/homeoncemoreart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/trim.E6F128C4-18A9-4F19-9758-02E68DAC8A8A.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Color Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, as much as I loved this muted, sophisticated palette, I know the voters prefer bright, grabby colors. They look the most like lamps in a dark room too, don\u2019t they? This design took me over 10 HOURS to complete\u2026hours that were stolen between homeschooling 6 children and tending a baby\u2026hours between meals and errands and houseguests\u2026I honestly don\u2019t know where they came from. But I know that I love art.
