Lake Life Design Process
I skipped last week, but I’m back this week, and I’m excited about this one! Spoonflower is a print on demand fabric website that runs weekly design challenges. If your design makes the top 100, it becomes automatically for sale on their site, and they promote it for you.
This week’s theme is Lake Life! I started by sketching out a few ideas on my iPad in the Procreate app for illustrators. My first one was bird footprints in the sand. We have Canadian geese that walk the beaches in the summer at our lake up here in Idaho. But I quickly scrapped that, because I wanted something more nautical. I like the idea of chevrons. I tried some boat docks in there…
But I didn’t think I could execute that well. Then I sketched a boat, and I loved the way the wake played with the Chevron. It went quickly from there.
