Here are my Party Birds!
This week’s design challenge theme is all the other holidays of the year…anything from Valentine’s Day to Thanksgiving. I think these birds would be great as a birthday party table cloth or even a New Years Party table. Between hand-painting the birds and assembling the pattern, this design took me about 10 hours. Yowza! Below, you can see the painting of the original motifs.

Process
Step 1: Paint motifs.
Step 2: Photograph motifs. I just used my iPad camera.
Step 3: Digitally “cut out” the motifs.
Step 4: Rearrange the motifs and make the pattern repeat.
Step 5: Add confetti background.
Step 6: Play with color and contrast.
