This week, Spoonflower challenged us to think on the roaring 20’s for the 1920’s Wallpaper Challenge. Art deco was very popular in that era when the Empire State Building was built in New York City. I think design from that era is classy, structured, and bold. I dig it. It was easy to find inspiration in architectural pictures from that era.
I love the sunbursts, the metals, and the scallops.
Process
Now, the actual workflow and design process for something with so many geometric elements, angles, and precision was yet again, outside my comfort zone. That seems to happen every week. It is definitely expanding my skill set. You can see how I stumbled through the process.
Voting
To vote for my design this week, click on the design challenge page, then click on “vote now.” You’ll have to scroll through hundreds of entries to find mine, but feel free to vote for others that you like along the way. Once you find mine, keep scrolling to the bottom, or they won’t count your vote. You have til Tuesday to vote. I sure appreciate the support! It would be pretty fun to win!
Results
I ranked 316/1276! I’m pretty pleased with that with all that competition! There were so many entries this week! As you can see here in the results page, the top 50 were gorgeous.
