Designing the Wallpaper
The surreal…whales swimming in the sky? Birds flying under the water? That’s what came to mind for me when prompted to design a wallpaper with a surreal theme. I had another design for my whimsical wallpaper collection that I thought could be made over nicely to fit the theme. I like the diagonal effect that these bubbles create on the wall…
If you look closely, you can see the stealthy scuba divers throughout this pattern. A pop of whimsy!
But for the surreal theme, I needed to add an unexpected element. That’s where the birds come in. I attempted an underwater 🛶, but I wasn’t happy with it. In the Timelapse, you’ll see me adjust my bubbles, draw birds, add my scuba-birdwatchers, and details like an Aquatics birds book and some dynamic bubbles…
