“Those don’t look like buttercups…” you might be saying. True. These are Hellebore Flowers, or Lenten Roses. They are in the Buttercup Family, believe it or not. This challenge was to design fabric for home decor using flowers from the Buttercup family, which includes all sorts of flowers…delphiniums, ranunculus, and…Hellebores!
I used my snazzy watercolor brushes for Procreate from Bardot Brush to paint these lovely flowers. It was a lot of layering and blending, adding background, defining details. It’s very similar to brush and paper, but without the mess! This design took me TEN HOURS. One hopes it’ll pay off over time! Here’s the full design with a watermark…
